A study permit is a legal document which authorizes an international student to study in Canada for a limited time. Barring few exceptions, most international students need this document to study. A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is also required to enter Canada if your country of residence or citizenship is not a visa-exempt.
Who can apply for a Canadian Student Visa?

- You must prove that you have enough money to pay for your tuition fees, living expenses in Canada and return transportation from Canada.
- You must not have a criminal record and not pose a threat to Canadian security.
- You must be in good health and willing to complete a medical examination.
- You must also satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay.
